August marks one of the most anticipated events in the SLSA calendar: the annual Cultural Show. This year’s show was based on a popular TV sitcom, with a Sri Lankan twist– ‘How I met your Amma’. It was held at the Teacher’s College Auditorium on August the 2nd.
We met Ted, Barney and the gang as they journeyed across Sri Lanka on a quest to find Ted the perfect Sri Lankan girl – that his Amma approved of, of course. There were a variety of dances, acts and a live band as well!
The trips to Sri Lanka were cheaper than JetStar, valued at $10 for SLSA members and $12 for non-members
Doors opened at 7pm with the expected departure time being 7.30pm
The show was a great success with ticket sales bringing in around $2000, $750 of which will be donated to the SOS Children’s Village. We thank everyone who came to support us on the night for making it the success that it was.
We would like to send our gratitude to OUSA and the Otago University Humanities Division for providing us with grants! We couldn’t have done it without you!
It was a night you didn’t want to miss! It was legen- wait for it –dary!!
