Sri Lankan New Year

Event Blurb:

Ayubowan and vanakkam everyone! Finally, that time of year has rolled around again! On Saturday 18th of April, the SLSA committee invite you to join us for SINHALESE & TAMIL NEW YEAR!

Bring your friends and family and join in on the fun, including a bouncy castle and face painting (for those young and old), traditional games with loads of prizes and spectacular fireworks to bring the night to a suitably spectacular close!

So come one, come all and meet us at Sargood Centre by Logan Park at 5pm!

Rumour has it that, as is tradition, President Kav will be rocking his most beautiful traditional sarong! Only one of the many things to look forward to!

The Sri Lankan New Year was a much anticipated event in our calender. The traditional food, the games & the fireworks were enjoyed by all and at the end of the day. we thought it was very successfull event.

We would like to send a massive thanks to the Sri Lankan community for providing us with so much delicious food. We would also like to thank OUSA and the DCC for providing us with grants so that  this event could take place.

There were around 200 people that attended the celebration and non one could stop talking about the fireworks at the end!
